For years my friend, Marisa Avenengo has struggled with various 'mysterious' to local doctors health issues. A few weeks ago things started getting really bad. She couldn't eat or drink much - if anything at all without extreme nausea and vomiting. She had severe pains in her abdomen, pelvis and side. After 2 ER visits to two different facilities in 2 days for dehydration, nausea and severe pain, a CTA scan was finally run as the suspicion this time was appendicitis. The issues this scan showed were very rare - Nutcracker Syndrome, Pelvic Congestion Syndrome, and a narrowing in her left ovarian vein. Marisa is currently receiving excellent care from NYU and aiming to gain weight before going back for surgery.
We are asking for donations to help keep Marisa from falling behind on rent, student loan payments, and hospital bills not covered by insurance. She is unable to work right now and will possibly be out of work for the better part of a year. Disability paperwork is being filed but unfortunately the timeline on that can take up to 6 months to a year. All donations will go directly to Marisa to help keep her head above water. Any little bit helps ❤️
