Support Mari’s Battle With Stage 4 Cancer

In September 2020, Mari received a phone call that changed her life. Her cervical cancer from 2016 was back, and had metastasized to Stage 4. Mari immediately made a radical shift in diet and lifestyle while engaging in intensive treatment. Now, after two and a half years of countless rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, holistic and experimental treatments, Mari has exhausted all options in Canada.

But, there are a variety of viable medical treatments offered outside of Canada; they come at a significant cost and Mari needs to self-fund the next phase. Depending on the results, availability, and how Mari responds, the estimated costs are somewhere between $200,000-$400,000.

My mother's resilience, humour and strength have carried her to this point and now she needs our help. My mother has helped so many people over the years as a parent, grandparent, partner, teacher, artist, entrepreneur, photographer, musician, gardener, writer, travel adventurer and friend. Always an active community member, Mari has inspired and empowered people of all ages, sharing her skills and talents as an artist, mentor and creative spirit. When you talk to Mari, you always feel welcomed, seen and supported. Her kindness and indelible spirit stay with you.
