Meet Mario, a Henry's Place camper who is currently fighting Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Recently, a few of us from Henry’s Place were blessed to take Mario and one of his camp buddies on a fishing trip. During that trip we learned of the financial strain that his family has been facing.

This is his story:

Mario is a 14-year-old who loves basketball, fishing, and hunting. His team had just won the All-Star championship when he started feeling sluggish. One night after working out with his team, he came home thinking he had pulled a muscle in his neck. What seemed like a pulled muscle quickly became a large lump, along with night sweats and extreme fatigue.

At first, they were told it was an infection and not to worry. But his mom knew something wasn’t right and continued pushing for answers. After several days of testing, Mario was sent to Primary Children’s Hospital, where he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Since then, Mario has had a port placed and has been traveling from Panguitch to Salt Lake City every other week for chemotherapy. Thankfully, his scans have shown he is responding well to treatment, but each round takes a greater toll on his body.

As Mario continues this fight, his family asks for prayers for healing, strength, good scan results, and protection from infection so he can continue treatment.
