Support Mario's Evangelism in NYC
Donation protected
My name is Mario and I have chosen to go on a mission with First Baptist Bryan to a mission trip to New York in July to act on my calling from God. We all have gifts and graces from God and a few months ago I discovered mine. On drives home from soccer practices at night, my mom and I always have really spiritual conversations, and one night my mom asked me what my gift from God was. Me being me, I simply said, "I don’t know," thinking I was too young to learn mine or even to show clues of what my gift was. My mom says, "Well, mine is service. I like to serve people of God and for His Kingdom. You might not have seen this, but you have a lot of signs to have a gift of evangelism." So we sit in the car really quiet after I agree with her, and we both knew we were thinking a lot (mostly because my mom is always on to something), and she breaks the silence after 5-10 minutes or so. "Hey, I remember seeing something in the loop (the announcements at the end of the service) say that there was a mission trip from grades 9-10 andddd you're in 9th grade." She gave me a side-eye and left it at that until I said I wanted to go. After that day, I have had so much support from everyone to do this. Much love and prayer has been going into these conversations to going to the Big Apple and trying out all the graces God has given me for the good of His Kingdom. Inside, I always knew I was supposed to do this. I am always really social and have a good way of understanding people and bringing Christ into the conversation if called to. I never thought that I would ever even do this in my adult life, and less in my teenage years. I knew I needed to follow this and use the gift that God gracefully laid upon me.
I need $1000 before January 1st and another $1000 by June 16th but whatever size donation you make is appreciated so much. This money will be used for the group of teenagers that are joining First Baptist Bryan in this mission for transportation, lodging, food, and so many more things that will, hopefully in God's will, bring New York City a bit closer to its beautiful Creator. This money will also become so much more by providing me an opportunity to stretch out this passion from God and also for the people of New York to change their lives. I will also put in my part to raise this money by doing a simple job like mowing lawns or walking dogs or soccer lessons.
I know it's just a few kids from a Texas church in one of the biggest cities in the world and it looks like little fish in a big pond. Scratch that, a whole ocean. But as small as this looks, we will be making a ripple in the waters that can affect so much more of the ocean. One person we bless with a prayer or a talk with Scripture could save his/her life and he/she could spread the word to a friend and save lives. We want to give them the opportunity to meet the Maker and share love in a city that is sometimes hard to find the Good News. Thank you for making it to the end of this message! Remember, God works in mysterious ways and I consider a 14-year-old in the middle of New York with a Bible pretty mysterious. lol - Mario Roque
