Hello friends! I am Marina, I am a 49-year-old miracle! I am still alive, although I've lived with no kidneys since I was 12.
I have quite a medical history, but most integral to my recent circumstances and need is that I've lived on dialysis for the past 13 years.
I have a lot of challenges as a dialysis patient. However, it is important to me to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible.
I have always had to work, but, unfortunately, I have had to start making some changes in my life.
I have noticed a decline in my health over the past few years, which is to be expected with a chronic illness like mine.
So, I am learning to adjust my circumstances and change my life as my health changes.
My most recent change was admitting that I can no longer do everything by myself. So, I asked for help.
My church family now comes regularly to help me with my weekly physical needs.
Another change is that I cannot work as much as I was (50+ hours per week). Now, I teach only a few hours on top of my 40-hour day job.
Because of this, I have to let my car go back to the bank. I bought it when I was working a lot more and my income was higher.
I do still need a safe, tall car to get to work, to the doctor, to the store and to church. These are the only places I go, but I work and go to my doctors in Boise. And I live in a nearby town and must commute. It means I need a reliable SUV for my day-to-day activities.
Due to my physical disability, I need a car which is higher up, like an SUV, so that I don't have to struggle as much getting in and out of the vehicle.
Also, I think it's important to have a car capable of driving safely in ice and snow, so I need a 4WD or an AWD.
I will continue to get help downsizing my household items and getting ready for an eventual big move, once I'm ready (sick enough that my physical needs warrant that I stop working and live less independently).
I believe it is best to be transparent. I have nothing to hide. I do work very hard and am doing the best that I can with the hand I have been dealt.
My lifestyle is set up around my physical disability, and unlike most. I am learning to balance health and work, and confident that making these changes is the best thing to do for now.
One day, I will need to stop working and change things again, but for now, getting car without payments will help the most and is a priority ... and it would relieve a lot of stress.
If your financial situation is such that it would be a hardship to help me, please do not give with money, but perhaps if you would or do, please pray for me. I ask only for you to assist financially if you have the means.
I believe we should help one another in this world. I think some people are given the opportunity to help others and some people are given the opportunity to ask for help, but that we do need each other; no one is meant to live their life alone.
I appreciate your help as I once again navigate my circumstances.
Again, I am doing the best I can. I am not perfect, but I'm just trying to exist on this planet and to love people.
If you can send some love to me by contributing financially and helping me get a little car, I will appreciate it so much.
Thank you all for your time and attention. And thank you for your help.
Xoxo
