As friends of Marina and Dusty, we have created this gofundme to help them out as much as possible during this extremely stressful time.

She got the diagnosis on 9/26/25 of Stage 3 Breast Cancer: ductal carcinoma, HER2 positive.

Marina will have to undergo at least six months of intensive chemotherapy treatments. As her primary focus at this time is to heal there will be time that will be missed off work. She has already completed her initial chemotherapy session, which involves full-day visits to Springfield, MO every three weeks for IV injection treatment, soon to be administered via a port.

Following these initial treatments, she will undergo a double mastectomy, with additional chemotherapy treatments to follow. Radiation therapy is also anticipated due to the spread of cancer to six of her lymph nodes.

Marina's port insertion is scheduled for October 27th, which will facilitate her treatments and blood draws.

She has already attended numerous appointments, including breast imaging, four biopsies, three MRIs for brain, liver, and breast, as well as bone scans, CT scans, an echocardiogram, and genetic testing.

We are reaching out to friends, family, neighbors, and the community to offer support to this family in any way possible. As many are aware, insurance coverage has limitations, and they are currently facing thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket expenses for just the first six months. Realistically they are looking at just shy of 2 years to really get ahead of this.

In addition to just treatment alone, the costs for daily medications to treat side effects, eating healthy, and seeking mental health support in preparation for the inevitable upcoming bodily changes.
