Support Marilyn's Fight Against Rare Cancer
Donation protected
Hi! We, the families who have children who are classmates of Marilyn, are raising funds to support Marilyn’s battle with cancer. Marilyn is a high school senior who was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Both ovaries were so filled with cancer they ruptured. She had a full hysterectomy the day after her diagnosis. Two weeks later, a PET scan showed that the cancer which usually returns in 6-12 months after a surgical removal had already returned and spread. They started chemotherapy immediately. Her cancer has been identified as an aggressive and very rare ovarian angiosarcoma with only 60 documented cases. As you can imagine, her treatment is aggressive, and she has already had to return to the hospital less than 48 hours after being discharged from the first round of chemo due to complications. In addition to medical bills, all of Marilyn’s treatments and doctor visits are in St Louis so travel and overnights will be frequent. Marilyn has four younger siblings ranging in age from four to fifteen. All of this is very difficult for the entire family. We humbly ask that you consider supporting the Dichsen family financially. Any amount is helpful. Additionally, we ask you to pray for Marilyn and her entire family. You can also visit Marilyn’s Caring Bridge site for more details and to follow her story. https://www.caringbridge.org/site/5199f485-a20d-11ef-8351-2b58203bb717
