In the early hours of Sunday, February 7th, Marik Crase, 4-year-old son of Kelan and Bailee Crase, was rushed to the emergency room, struggling to breathe. He was admitted shortly after and diagnosed with Flu A and pneumonia.

From Sunday to Wednesday, Marik was cared for on the pediatric floor at St. Francis Children’s Hospital. But on Wednesday morning, his condition worsened, and he was moved to the Pediatric ICU. The next day, doctors intubated him to give his lungs a chance to rest and heal.

Marik has severe asthma and allergies, which has made his treatment more complicated and his recovery longer. Marik is fighting with everything he has, and we are praying for his complete and total healing.

Once Marik recovers and returns home, he will need to carry an EpiPen at all times and begin ongoing preventive care for his asthma.

This has been an incredibly challenging time for his parents and family—emotionally, physically, and financially. As they focus on being by Marik’s side, we hope to ease the financial burden that comes with extended hospital stays, specialized care, and ongoing treatments.
