Our family’s world changed overnight.

My sister, Marie, is just 38 years old. She is the oldest of eight children, the heart of our family, and truly the most loving person I know. She is a devoted wife to her husband, Jeff, and the most incredible mama to their 18-month-old little boy, Fulton. Marie has always been the one who puts herself last and everyone else first. She is the one who shows up, who quietly shoulders everyone else’s burdens, who makes sure everyone else is okay before ever thinking about herself. Her favorite place in the world is surrounded by family, and she loves with her whole heart.

While pregnant with Fulton's little brother, Marie was told something no expectant mother should ever have to hear — her doctors discovered a concerning ovarian mass that required urgent surgical intervention. Instead of panic, she responded with strength and selflessness. She waited until her baby was big enough that surgery would pose minimal risk before undergoing a procedure to remove the tumor. Her only focus was protecting her child. The surgery was largely successful with removing most of the cancer. But the physical trauma caused her to go into labor far too early, and our family faced a grief beyond measure. Marie and Jeff lost their precious baby.

In the midst of devastating grief, Marie was hit with a life-altering diagnosis: Stage IV colon cancer.

She is now preparing to begin chemotherapy in the midst of mourning the loss of her perfect tiny son, whom she and Jeff have named Isaiah, while caring for sweet Fulton and her family. Her treatments, numerous doctor visits, procedures, and recovery have required her to stop working. Medical bills are mounting, and everyday expenses don’t pause for cancer.

If you know Marie, you know that she would rather give than receive every single time. But right now, she understands that she needs support — and with incredible humility, she is willing to accept it. She is deeply grateful for every prayer, every message, and every act of kindness.

Whatever support you are able to provide will help cover medical expenses, treatment costs, and ease the financial burden so Marie can concentrate on her healing and recovery in the months ahead. She has so much life ahead of her, and the world is a better place with Marie's light in it.

If you feel led, please consider donating. If you cannot give financially, please share this page and keep Marie, Jeff, and Fulton in your prayers. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for loving her with us.
