Marici's Intervention

Marici's Aftercare Team meticulously crafts Individual Care Plans tailored to each survivor for successful rehabilitation and reintegration into society. This includes psychological counseling, trauma-informed care, and techniques like Neurofeedback, which help survivors heal from trauma.

Did you love playing hide and seek as a child? It was a favorite game of mine. I'd hide in the dark, giggling with excitement, waiting for my friends to find me.

My life took a dark turn when I was trafficked. The excitement turned to fear and a permanent feeling of anxiety. In the years that I was held captive, I would think back on the times I used to play and wish that if only they would count to 10, maybe I could find that hiding place again. No matter how many times a day they sold my body, I never stopped struggling to have some right over my body. I would fight with every last bit of strength left in me.

I couldn't stop asking myself the same questions over and over again. Why did this happen to me? Was I a bad child? Was it my fault that I was born a girl? What did I do to deserve this?

The anxiety is still there today, but with the support of Marici's Aftercare team, I am on a path to recovery. With every year that passes, the memory of that traumatic experience loses its grip a little more, as I've come to understand that it does not define who I am. I am a testament to resilience.
