Hello everyone, I’m reaching out on behalf of my beloved aunt Maribel, who recently endured a heartbreaking and life-changing car accident in Davie, Florida. She was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, where she bravely underwent five major surgeries after suffering severe injuries — including broken bones in her hip, clavicle, elbow, and arm. The damage has left her with permanent arthritis, and now she faces the painful and uncertain journey of relearning how to walk and use her arm again.

On that tragic day, a reckless driver chose to go the wrong way on a curved road in a dangerous attempt to pass another vehicle. My aunt was in the car with her 4-year-old grandson, Ryan. The impact completely crushed the left side of their car. Miraculously, Ryan, who was safely seated in the back passenger seat, escaped physical harm, but he was still taken to the hospital for monitoring to ensure he hadn’t suffered hidden injuries.

What adds to our frustration and heartbreak is that the police never checked the driver for alcohol or DUI, and the man responsible carries only the cheapest insurance, which is now refusing to cover any of my aunt’s mounting medical bills or lost wages. She won’t be able to work or walk for at least six months, leaving her without any income during this incredibly difficult time.
