This past year has changed our entire world in ways we never expected. When my wife, Maribelle, came home after her major surgery and long hospital stay, we hoped life would slowly settle into something normal again. Instead, her recovery became a long, painful journey that has tested our strength, our patience, and our faith. She still cannot speak. She still breathes through a trach tube. Many days, even simple movement causes her throat to hurt. She cannot work, and she needs full care every single day. And yet, even in her silence, she continues to fight with a strength that amazes us.

Her body has been through more than most people will ever understand — surgeries, complications, infections, setbacks, and constant pain. Every day brings new challenges: breathing issues, discomfort, mobility struggles, and the never‑ending need for medical supplies and support. The weight on her body has been heavy, and the weight on our family has been even heavier. But through every difficult moment, we hold onto hope and thank God for every small step forward.

As a Filipino family with no disability assistance, no housing support, and no programs stepping in to help, we have been doing everything we can to keep her safe and cared for. But the truth is, this battle has grown far beyond what one family can carry alone. The medical needs, the supplies, the transportation, the emergencies, the daily care — it has all become overwhelming.

We are now at a point where the level of care my wife needs is greater than what we can provide on our own.
