My name is Melissa and I’m organizing this to help assist my 74-year-old mother with her medical and travel expenses. Recently, she found out she will need a full hip replacement along with a potential back surgery for multiple disc herniations and a shoulder injury.

If you know my mother, you know that she has endured a lifetime's worth of suffering, trauma, and pain. She deserves to age peacefully and pain-free. Her mobility has become extremely limited, and I have traveled down from Seattle to care for her.

Any funds acquired will go towards her medical bills and potential travel costs to San Antonio, Texas or Seattle, WA from Pharr, Texas (about a 4-hour drive). Her town of Pharr is a small town very close to the Mexican border with subpar medical services at best. They have dragged her around for the last 8 months while she has been consistently in excruciating pain and increasingly limited in her mobility and function.

It is never ideal for someone to ask for financial assistance; however, given our medical system in the United States, it is very common. Everyone will come to at least one point in life where they need to ask for help. My mom would never do it, so I’m doing it for her. She deserves so much more than what she’s gotten down here.
