Support Maria's Journey to Nursing

Hello! My name is Maria. I currently work as a Medical Interpreter at Baystate Medical Center. I have always wanted to be a nurse for a long time since caring for those in need is my passion. Unfortunately, for reasons out of my hands, I wasn’t able to do it when I was younger. Seeing how the patients need caring and passionate nurses breaks my heart.

I want to be one of those nurses who greatly dedicate their time, love, and compassion for each and every one of those patients.

I applied to GCC but was waitlisted until next year. I applied to Goodwin University for the LPN program and I was accepted. Unfortunately, I no longer qualify to receive financial aid. The school offered me a small scholarship but it wasn’t enough to cover the full expense. My employer offers tuition reimbursement after I finish the first semester but it’s only 2600 dollars per year since I will have to cut back my hours to part-time and I don’t have money to cover it up-front. The portion of tuition which I have to pay just for the fall semester is 8100.00. That amount will be greater in the Spring/Summer semester. I am asking everyone out there that comes across my fundraiser to donate at least a dollar since a dollar can go a long way. Also, please share with friends and colleagues on my behalf.
