We are coming together to support our dear coworker and friend, Maria, who is a cherished member of the Sinai family and a deeply loved teacher. For many years, Maria has been Miss Lauren’s PK4 partner, touching countless lives with her kindness, dedication, and heart. She is also a devoted mom to three boys, who mean everything to her.

Maria was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She has a long and challenging road ahead and will soon begin 20 weeks of chemotherapy. During this time, she will unfortunately be unable to work. Adding to the hardship, her husband has also recently lost his job, creating an overwhelming financial and emotional burden for their family.

This fundraiser is meant to help ease some of the stress Maria and her family are facing—whether it goes toward medical expenses, daily necessities, or simply helping her feel more comfortable and supported as she focuses on healing and being there for her children. Maria has given so much love and care to her students, colleagues, and community. Now it’s our turn to surround her and her family with that same love.
