Help Me Buy Winter Clothes for a Family in Need

Help a Recently Arrived Migrant Family Stay Warm This Winter

I met Maria and her family selling fruit and candy in the NYC subway three months ago. They had just arrived from El Salvador, and despite the language barrier between us - communicating through my broken Spanish and Google Translate - I immediately felt connected to their situation as a parent myself, with two of their children being smiliar ages as G and V.

Since then, I've been able to help them enroll their two older children in local school, donated clothes and household items from my neighborhood, and helped the father secure work as a dishwasher.

Maria, her husband, and their three young children currently share a two-bedroom apartment with two other families in Queens. While her husband recently found work as a dishwasher, Maria still needs to sell items in the subway during the day, carrying their youngest child on her back as she works.

With NYC experiencing extremely cold temperatures already this winer, Maria asked if I could help them find winter coats and boots. Currently, none of them have proper winter clothing. Any small contribution will help me buy them new coats, boots and clothes. Any additional funds will go towards food and household items for them.

Thank you and happy holidays!!
