LET'S HELP MARIA AND HER FAMILY!!

Our QV community has just suffered an indignity, as one of our families was illegally stopped by ICE right in front of Osborne Elementary. Regardless of being here legally and having their paperwork on them, father, Bruno, was taken and is at a detention facility in WV. Mom, Ana Paula, son, Breno, and daughter, Maria, were left behind. As if this isn't bad enough, elementary school student, Maria, is undergoing treatment for Hodgkins Lymphoma for a second time, and is receiving top care during chemotherapy at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. Both Mom and Dad work at a popular local restaurant, but Mom has been scarcely at work recently as she has to take care of Maria, and now Dad is illegally detained in West Virginia!

Please help us support the family with rent, medical bills, and possible legal bills.

Update 1 (2/23 9:20am ET): wow! Wow! Wow! I received a note from Ana Paula today, blessing each one of you with the most sincere thanks. A team is working to contact Bruno and secure an immigration lawyer. As of now, we have no reason as to why he and his family would be detained. The local news is also on this story so keep an eye out.
