Hi, my name is Katie, and I'm Maria's niece. I'm creating this GoFundMe to support my Aunt during this most difficult fight for her life. Maria was recently diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor, a life-altering diagnosis that came without warning and turned everything upside down overnight. She is scheduled to undergo brain surgery on January 9th, followed by radiation treatment. Depending on the results, chemotherapy may also be required. The physical, emotional, and financial toll of this diagnosis is overwhelming. Maria has always been independent, strong and selfless, never one to ask for help. But the reality of brain cancer treatment includes mounting medical bills, time away from work, travel to appointments, and ongoing care needs. This is more than one person can manage alone.


Funds raised will go directly toward: brain surgery and hospital expenses, radiation and potential chemotherapy, medical travel, recovery care and daily living costs, and unexpected expenses during treatment and healing.
