Support Maria's Battle with Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Her name is Maria Lorena Mejia, and she is one of the strongest women on this planet, but also a mom, a grandma, an aunt, a sister, and the most selfless friend one could ever have.
She was diagnosed with an astrocyte brain tumor in November of 2023, which quickly became a Glioblastoma multiforme, the most aggressive, fast-growing brain tumor. Also the most invasive, making it the hardest to treat. The tumor has rendered her disabled, leaving her with no function of her left arm or leg, and even having difficulty swallowing. She is now wheelchair-bound, and not able to do anything on her own. This cancer is also causing debilitating seizures which leave her fatigued and anxious. Her mental health has declined due to this life-altering diagnosis. She often suffers from panic attacks.
She has gone through radiation, chemotherapy, and two brain surgeries so far, and has had countless visits to the ER. After a year of these harrowing attempts at treatment, a decision was made for her to have hospice care for a better quality of life.
All of this has impacted her and our family in many ways, especially emotionally, but also financially, unfortunately, with her needing 24/7 home care and piling medical bills not covered by insurance. Any small donation will help in her care to live a more comfortable life and will be greatly appreciated. God bless you.
With lots of love,
The Mejia-Baires family.
