Dear Family and Friends,
I'm reaching out on behalf of my dear uncle Mariano Godinez, a hardworking man whose life took a devastating turn on October 31st. While on the job, Mariano suffered a tragic fall that left him with severe injuries. In an instant, everything changed for him and his loving wife, Maria.
Rushed to Holy Cross Medical Hospital, Mariano was immediately placed in the ICU and into an induced coma to give his body the best chance to heal. For weeks, we held our breath, praying for any sign of hope amid the beeps of machines and the sterile hospital walls. The uncertainty was heartbreaking—watching his family grapple with fear, exhaustion, and mounting worries.
Then, about two weeks ago, a glimmer of light broke through. Mariano began showing promising signs of recovery, and he was transferred to Kindred Hospital in Baldwin Park for continued care. He's making progress every day, fighting with the same quiet strength that's defined him his whole life. Though he remains intubated and his journey is far from over, these steps forward give us all renewed hope.
But recovery comes at a heavy cost. Mariano has been unable to work since the accident, and we're unsure when—or even if—he'll regain the full strength to return to his job. His wife, Maria, has been by his side through it all, balancing hospital visits with the realities of life at home. The financial strain is overwhelming: medical bills are piling up, and everyday essentials like rent for their home are becoming impossible to manage without help. As a family friend, I've seen firsthand how this has tested their resilience, and it's why I'm starting this GoFundMe—to rally our community around them in their time of need.
Your support, no matter the amount, will make a real difference. It will help cover rent, utilities, groceries, and any unexpected expenses that arise during Mariano's recovery. Every donation brings us closer to easing their burden and allowing them to focus on healing rather than hardship.
Mariano is more than a survivor—he's a kind soul who's always been there for others. Now, it's our turn to be there for him. Please consider donating and sharing this page with your networks. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generosity and compassion.
With gratitude,
On behalf of Mariano and Maria
