Mariano Castillo has been my coworker and friend for many years. He works in our make ready department six days a week, out in the sun and rain, never complaining. Mariano is always the first one in and the last to leave, showing true dedication to his work and to those around him. In his 24 years at our job, Mariano has never asked for anything—he’s the perfect employee and a true friend to so many of us.

Recently, Mariano faced a life-changing emergency. He had to undergo brain surgery to remove a tumor, and now he’s facing a long road to recovery. Mariano is here in the United States by himself, with no family nearby and no financial safety net. He doesn’t have savings to cover the mounting medical bills, recovery costs, or even his basic living expenses. With no income coming in while he’s out of work, the situation is overwhelming.

I’m starting this fundraiser because Mariano has always been there for others, and now he needs our help more than ever.
