Dear friends and supporters,
We’re reaching out once more for Mariana Itzayana Márquez Díaz, a sweet and strong 2-year-old girl from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
Mariana was born prematurely and has been fighting vision loss due to Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) since birth. Despite these challenges, she’s a joyful and curious child who loves to explore, laugh, and learn. She inspires everyone around her with her resilience and big, bright spirit.
Thanks to your generosity, Mariana was able to undergo a critical eye surgery in March. Now she faces the next important step in her care: receiving eye conformers.
What Are Conformers?
Eye conformers are medical devices placed in the eye socket. They:
- Help the eye area and face grow properly
- Prevent the socket from shrinking or collapsing
- Prepare her for a future prosthetic eye if needed
Without conformers, Mariana risks permanent facial and developmental issues.
The Cost
Each conformer costs $25,000 pesos (around $1,350 USD).
Other costs include:
- Travel to her medical team in Toluca
- Lodging and meals during visits
- Follow-up appointments and evaluations
⏰Mariana needs her first conformer as soon as possible to avoid complications that can’t be reversed later. Time is critical—early treatment means better long-term outcomes.
