Hello,

My name is Alex, and I am reaching out on behalf of my wife, Mariana, to share her story and ask for your generosity through this fundraising campaign.

We have been married for 19 years, we are servants of the Lord, and together we have been building our life in Canada with our two children, Ana Luisa and Gabriel, for the last 10 years.

In 2022, at 39 years old, Mariana was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma — breast cancer. She went through surgery (lumpectomy with lymph node removal), chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, and did everything she could to move forward and continue caring for our family.

In late 2025, the cancer came back in her skin. It was surgically removed, and her treatment was changed to a new hormone therapy combined with monthly injections. She stayed hopeful and kept going, with the same strength she has always shown.

This year, the disease progressed further. Fluid was found in her left lung, and tests confirmed the cancer has spread. Her doctors have now started her on chemotherapy again to fight the disease and work toward remission. There is no fixed number of sessions — treatment continues for as long as her body responds and tolerates it.

This is a longer road than we ever imagined, and it comes with costs that go far beyond the treatment itself: medications that are not fully covered, transportation to frequent appointments, support at home during the harder days, and everything our children Ana Luisa and Gabriel need to keep learning, growing, and feeling secure through this time. We cannot carry this alone, and that is why I am reaching out on Mariana's behalf.

Here is what the road ahead looks like:

Phase 1: Full restaging and diagnostic workup
CT scan, bone scan, endoscopy, brain MRI, and pleural drainage — all within the same week to map the disease and finalize the treatment plan.

Phase 2: Chemotherapy
Ongoing cycles, reassessed every few months based on how her body responds.*
Phase 3: Supportive care and medications
Anti-nausea medication, blood work, imaging follow-ups, and other supportive treatments alongside chemotherapy, plus continued support for our children's homeschooling and daily needs.*

Phase 4: Recovery and daily living support
Help with day-to-day expenses during the months when she is unable to work at full capacity.*

*Treatment plans and timelines may change depending on how her body responds.

Before anything else, we ask for your prayers for Mariana. Money helps us face the practical side of this journey, but prayer is what truly sustains our family and our faith. If all you can offer is a prayer, please know it means more to us than we can express.

Thank you so much for your kindness and support. May God bless you and your family.

Many thanks for your support
Alex and Family
