Help Mariam Aweye Fight Cancer
Your Support Matters

Mariam Aweye is a mother to two children, Bidal David and Aboy Ubur, married to Kolonga David, who is a son to Angelo Uyein, and she is a daughter to Marko Maggut Atanacio.

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

I am reaching out to you today on behalf of Mariam Aweye, who is bravely battling with cervical cancer diagnosed on 24/Dec/2024. This journey has been incredibly challenging, not just for Mariam Aweye, but for everyone who loves her.

Mariam Aweye is not only a fighter but also a light in the lives of many. She is known for her warm, welcoming heart and hospitality, contributing to the community, making her husband the youngest community chairman within Päri communities, and at the same time, a friendly secondary teacher who gives knowledge without boundaries.
He was a teacher at Excell Academy Secondary School Gumbo-Sherikat. Due to his wife's sickness, he had to take care of her and the two kids, ending his teaching in November 2024 since the start of the disease, earning $76 per month.
With the current situation he is going through from South Sudan to Uganda all the time, it has become hard for him without an earning source.
Kolonga David, Mariam Aweye's husband, has been a youth leader organizing football tournaments within Gumbo-Sherikat, Juba, South Sudan, bringing peaceful coexistence between youths, highly needed by students and community youths.

Since the diagnosis, Mariam has undergone radiation therapy, both inner and outer. Then chemotherapy will be given in two weeks to come, which also depends on her HCG when it raises to 7.2 plus the 3 units recommended by the doctor, which will increase it to 10 units. While she is brave and resilient, the financial burden of medical bills, treatment costs, and daily living expenses has become overwhelming.

We are organizing this GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate some of that burden and allow Mariam to focus on healing and recovery. The funds raised will go towards:

- Medical expenses (treatment, medications, doctor’s appointments)
- Travel costs for treatment (if applicable)
- Day-to-day living expenses (bills, groceries, etc.)
- Supplements or alternative treatments that she may wish to pursue for holistic healing

How You Can Help:

1. Donate: Any amount, big or small, makes a difference. Your generosity will go directly to Mariam’s care and support.
2. Share: Please share this campaign with your network. Spreading the word can help us reach even more people who may want to help.
3. Support: Send your love, thoughts, and prayers to Mariam. Every positive message means the world.

Thank you for taking the time to read Mariam’s story. Your support and kindness will not only provide financial assistance but also uplift her spirits during this difficult time. Together, we can help Mariam continue this fight and show her that she is not alone but with friends, communities, Päri, South Sudanese, Africans, and the world.

With heartfelt gratitude,
