Mariah and Greg Fight for a Fresh Start Out of Homelessness

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mariah.

As of October last year(2023), my partner and I were essentially forced into homelessness.

At the time I was working as a manager at a major grocery store and doing pretty well for myself and my partner. We were staying with my mother after going through a very traumatic event and just trying to do our best. I had also maintained my recovery of almost 4 years from addiction issues despite going through something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

My mother has mental health issues that remain unaddressed and sometime around the end of last summer that turned into her going full scorched earth in regards to her treatment of us. Things of ours started to go missing and after bringing this up, everything just got so much worse. Paranoid delusions set in on top of that and everything hit a boiling point about mid September of 2023.

All in all, these things and several other terrifying interactions with my mother led to us having to leave that living situation in order to salvage any last bit of happiness and positivity in our lives.

I genuinely thought our homelessness would be a very temporary thing, maybe a couple weeks tops. After hitting our seven month this week living out of our car and exhausting all of our resources we have hit critical mass of stress and hopelessness.

We have been calling every number we've come across in order to try to pull ourselves out of this mess and have gotten nowhere with any of these organizations that are supposed to be able to help people just like us.

We are educated, we are kind, we are just wanting to get a sliver of the happy little life we had built get put back together.
This shouldn't happen to anyone.
We just want our happiness and security back so that we can begin to rebuild and start giving back to society. My family support was destroyed by my mother and my partner has no family support either.

Our car is no longer running and it is getting to be over 100 degrees in the Phoenix area.

Any help is appreciated, even just enough to be able to do our laundry, attempt to buy gym passes to be able to shower, get a motel room once a week. If we make enough with this campaign in addition to finding work this could completely change the awful trajectory we've been on.

Ultimately I just want my best friend back. The insane amount of stress and anxiety that homelessness has caused has begun to replace 5 years of our completely happy memories with absolute trauma.

Please, please, PLEASE help us get out of this. We are so scared and just need some love.

Thank you so much to those of you that have taken the time to read this. It means the world to us.
