My sister-friend Mariah is a wonderful, strong, and resilient single mother who has already overcome many health challenges in her life. Her strong faith has seen her through life's many twists and turns, including her most recent unexpected discovery. She has a big, kind, and generous heart for youth, and is a wonderful role model for the kids she works with. Mariah works in an elementary school as a paraeducator, supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of every child she comes into contact with. Her beautiful and compassionate heart is apparent to all she comes into contact with. Unfortunately, the doctors have now diagnosed that same incredible heart with 3 large Atrial Septal Defects also known as ASD.

As of Friday, February 20th, Mariah bravely underwent a successful open heart surgery. She will be on leave from work for several months, and during this time, she will need help covering rent, bills, meals, and any unexpected costs that may arise as she recovers.
