Hi everyone!

My name is Lindsay Strong, and I’m writing on behalf of one of my best friends, Mariah Priestley.

Just a few weeks ago, at only 31 years old, Mariah was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer called triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma stage IV. It’s rare and difficult to treat. Mariah will be starting chemo in the coming weeks, need surgeries in the coming months and possibly other interventions after surgery.

Many of you know that Mariah just recently graduated and started her career as a nurse at Advent Health. She’s already touched so many lives with her compassion, and outside of work she’s the most loving friend, partner and daughter.

Cancer care comes with so many unexpected costs—she’s already been through bone scans, CTs, MRIs, and multiple biopsies, with more ahead, including the costs of a clinical trial. On top of treatment expenses like chemo and surgery, she may also need to take time away from work, which makes everyday living costs harder to manage.

But the most urgent need right now is fertility preservation. Mariah’s insurance does not cover the medications required to harvest and freeze her eggs before chemo begins. Becoming a mom has always been one of her dreams, and we want to make sure that possibility stays alive for her!!
