Monticello, I'm reaching out with some heavy news about our dear Mariah Curry. You know Mariah well – she's our wonderful cook at Legends Corner, always bringing joy to our kitchen. She was unfortunately involved in a really frightening incident on July 22, 2026. She was just heading into work, crossing at the intersection of Market Street and Washington, when a truck sadly didn't yield and hit her. Mariah sustained some pretty extensive injuries, including a broken hip and some facial bones, and was quite literally bruised from head to toe. This means she's got a long road to recovery ahead of her and won't be able to be back in the kitchen with us for a while.

Since this hasn't been widely reported, I wanted to make sure our community was aware and could send her all the good vibes and support she needs during this incredibly tough time. It would mean the world to her, I'm sure. This whole situation also serves as a stark reminder about being extra cautious at crosswalks, especially at busy intersections like Market and Washington. We're all incredibly relieved that Mariah's life was spared, but it truly highlights the importance of staying vigilant and looking out for one another. Let's keep Mariah in our thoughts as she heals!
