Nuestra increíble mamá, María Luisa, siempre ha sido el corazón de nuestra familia. Ella es quien trae alegría y emoción a nuestras vidas, siempre feliz, siempre inocente; nunca le haría daño a una mosca. Su comida (no la mejor), pero siempre hecha con amor y buenas intenciones, su increíble salsa de pasta todos los domingos o sus bistecs sobrecocidos/demasiado sazonados que tanto nos gustan. Siempre sonriendo, cantando, bailando o gritando “¡Es viernes, es viernes, es viernes!” cuando se acerca el fin de semana. Siempre fue una apasionada de la enseñanza, ayudando a los niños, especialmente a aquellos con discapacidades y desafíos.

Recientemente, nuestro mundo se puso patas arriba cuando le diagnosticaron cáncer de mama. Esta noticia ha sido devastadora, trayendo consigo no solo un inmenso dolor emocional sino también una pesada carga financiera de tratamientos médicos, medicamentos y gastos diarios mientras ella no puede trabajar. Cada 21 días, viaja con nuestro papá para recibir su tratamiento, y él ha hecho grandes ajustes para apoyarla. Sus cuatro hijos, que viven en el extranjero, hacen lo posible desde lejos, pero la distancia es difícil.

Aunque las facturas médicas y la quimioterapia son las necesidades más urgentes, otros gastos como gasolina, alimentos especiales y servicios públicos se están acumulando. Nos acercamos a ustedes porque creemos en el poder de la comunidad. Queremos que María Luisa pueda concentrarse en su recuperación, sin el estrés de las crecientes facturas. Our incredible mom, Maria Luisa, has always been the heart of our family. She brings joy and excitement to our lives—always happy, always innocent, never hurting a fly. Her food, though not the best, is always made with love and good intentions. We cherish her Sunday pasta sauce and her overcooked, over-seasoned steaks. She’s always smiling, singing, dancing, or yelling “It’s Friday, it’s Friday, it’s Friday” as the weekend approaches. Maria Luisa has always been passionate about teaching, especially helping children with disabilities and challenges.

Recently, our world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. This news has been devastating, bringing immense emotional pain and a heavy financial burden. The costs of chemotherapy, medical bills, and ongoing treatments are overwhelming, especially as she is unable to work.
