Hello, I'm Nadeli. I've initiated this GoFundMe campaign to gather funds for my mother, Maria Cansino, who has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon and Liver Cancer.
Around 6 to 8 months ago, my mom began experiencing severe discomfort, prompting a visit to the ER. Unfortunately, she was sent home with assurances of her well-being and advised to follow up with her primary care physician. Despite multiple attempts, she couldn't secure an appointment with a GI doctor until my dad switched her insurance and persistently advocated for her medical attention.
Finally, in early April, my mom underwent a Colonoscopy, revealing a concerning mass in her colon. Subsequent biopsies confirmed the diagnosis of Stage 4 Colon Cancer, which had spread to her liver and bloodstream over the past months. A brain MRI thankfully showed no signs of brain cancer. On May 1st, she underwent a liver biopsy surgery and had a chemo port installed in preparation for treatment. We are still awaiting the liver biopsy results. However, navigating insurance hurdles delayed her chemo schedule until May 13th, 2024, at Texas Oncology in Dallas.
Due to her health needs, my mom had to resign from her job, and now requires intensive chemotherapy every 21 days for three consecutive days. My dad, her primary caregiver, cannot work, leaving us struggling with medical expenses, chemo costs, and the loss of his wages as he stands by her side throughout this challenging journey.
This fight against cancer isn't just my mom's; it's ours. We humbly ask for your support in covering medical bills, chemo treatments, and compensating for my dad's lost wages during this critical time.
My mother embodies love and compassion, always prioritizing the needs of others. She dedicates her time to volunteering at St. Pius Church in Dallas, Texas, participating in a prayer group and diligently cleaning the church every Monday. Similarly, my father serves as a sacristan at his church. They are both pillars of goodness in their community, facing adversity with strength and grace. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated during this challenging time.
Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us. Thank you for your donation and support
