Support Maria and Torque's Cancer Battle

Maria and Torque need our help!

If you’ve ever met Torque, you know the profound impact he has made on our community. He’s a therapy dog, animal actor, and fierce competitor.

Torque has been Maria’s partner in crime since she rescued him from a basement at 9 months old. This dog has been her heart and soul for the last 9 years, and is now in trouble.

Last weekend was a seemingly normal weekend. Torque and Hooptie came to play with Maria at Einstein’s dock event. Everything seemed fine until Monday morning when he spiked a fever. A quick trip to the vet revealed enlarged lymph nodes, and by Wednesday she had the devastating news her best friend has cancer.

If you’ve ever met Maria, you know she is the kindest, most giving human ever. Maria would give you the shirt off her back, even if she didn’t have one to spare.

Maria has insurance on Torque, but they said they’ll only cover up to $3400 of the $10,000 need for treatment, and that’s even if it’ll be covered.

She is devastated, and can’t imagine life without the dog that has given her so much.
