Help Margo move forward with her health battles.

Margo is a 31-year-old woman living in Minneapolis.

Over the last couple of years, Margo’s health has greatly declined.

She struggles to maintain a normal routine of self-care while also trying to financially support herself.

She has been battling a multitude of illnesses that stemmed from, and/or were largely impacted by, a mold-ridden apartment she was living in for close to three years. After a traumatic lease break involving lawyers, Margo was able to get moved out of that building in February 2024.

Between the accumulated medical debt and furniture, household, and personal belongings she had to throw away because of the mold, she was left completely emotionally and financially burdened.

Margo's familly has helped her greatly throughout these stages, but they also have medical debt of their own and cannot continue to help as much as she needs.

During the last year and a half, Margo has attended over 100 doctor’s appointments to maintain her health. Specialists include Allergy, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, ENT, Gynecology, Hematology, ER, Primary, and Functional Doctors. Tests have included MRI, CT, and multiple ultrasounds, colposcopies, and biopsies.

Margo suffers from a multitude of allergies that make it extremely difficult to be in most public spaces without experiencing anaphylaxis or pain in multiple organ systems. Most of the medications she has taken to help symptoms in the past, she has become allergic to or developed adverse effects.

She has to keep her environments as natural as possible and is highly sensitive in allergic reactions towards a multitude of foods, clothing, and chemicals that most people use within a normal day. This makes it really difficult for her to avoid when she leaves the house and has to make sure she is always aware of where the nearest ER is located.

Margo has worked as a hairstylist for 11 years and is facing a probable career change as she is just not able to control her environment enough from health triggers and finding it more difficult to be on her feet all day due to these circumstances.

She is looking into a place of her own to serve clients where she can control the environment, or a total and complete career-path change. It has been difficult to weigh options when there are so few answers currently about her health.

For Margo to move forward, she is pursuing an in-depth specialist at Mayo where her immunologist is, so that they may work closely together on her endometriosis case, which will include surgical procedures and rehabilitation care.
