Support Margie's Fight Against Cancer

I've been asked to create this GoFundMe in order to help my cousin Margie Staats during this difficult time. Following is a letter from Margie:
"I found out that I had breast cancer in 2008 and it was devastating news to say the least. I cried like most people would and then I started the "chemo journey" for 12 weeks. I lost all my hair (all of it, everywhere) and if you know me, my hair was my crown. After chemo I had 8 weeks of radiation on my breast and neck which turned my breast charcoal black and was the worst pain I ever experienced. Per doctors orders I was on medication for five years following and everything seemed to be ok. I found out in 2016 that it came back, not only came back but metastasized to my bones. I was put on another chemo pill and when that stopped working the cancer moved to my liver. Starting in January 2023 they started me on a new trial drug which worked for a year before it didn't and then the cancer moved to my brain. At that point all I could do was continue to try new trial drugs, which the next drug lasted three months. After all that, I was told that I needed surgery on my spine which moved me to over to Regions Senior Care Network, which is out of network and cost me over $1,000 out of pocket.
After all that and then spine surgery, I started radiation again but this time for my brain (you can't do radiation more than once on the same place). Before radiation I had to see the dentist per doctors request. After arriving at the dentist where they took a bunch of x-rays and filled a few cavities (I like candy). Per my dentist there is a lot to be done before and during my radiation treatments. I left the dentist and made it to my radiation appointment. The radiation last 20 mins and you can see from the photo that I looked like Hannibal Lecter. During the longest 20 minutes I just kept quoting Psalms 46:10 "Be Still and know that I am God" which seemed to keep me somewhat calm and I made it through.
I hate asking anyone for anything but I lived on a fixed income building for Seniors and rent is based on income, so I don't have a lot of "extra" money or really money at all. Needless to say I have a lot of dental work to be done and have no dental insurance. I told the dentist that I didn't want to put a lot of money into my mouth, as I had done that years ago and I don't know how much longer I would live and well who knew it, but I'm still here. I cannot start all my chemo until I have my dental work done as the chemo may lead to an infection which could lead to my death.
So far I've gotten three teeth pulled and the dentist said that there is a lot of work that I still need. I've been crying all day because I can't get in for more dental until June 13th, which means I can't start chemo until after that. I really need to start chemo as soon as possible so the cancer doesn't spread to anywhere else. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you so much! Margie"
This is just the start to Margie's story and we hope to keep the story going for as long as we can! Any help would be appreciated, funds will go to medical and dental bills. Thanks Jennie
