Thanksgiving of 2023, my Nammaw, Margie Brown had severe pain in her back. After an ER appointment, scans and many tests, a mass was found in around her spinal cord. For weeks, tests were administered and the waiting game began. After many sleepless nights, barely eating because of the not knowing, we found out in January, she has stage four cancer. Not only in the mass around her spine, but throughout her body. But my Nammaw is strong! Her faith is in God and she knew that her fight had just begun but she would fight with everything she has. The original treatment plan was a strong radiation treatment, targeted to the mass at her spine. More than that, they were afraid would make her bones too brittle. Then, chemo every 6 weeks until…

But chemo was so harsh on her body they had to take a break after the first treatment. Within that time and other spot grew. But her faith, stayed steady. She received another harsh radiation treatment last week and will soon be back on the chemo regimen.

I am starting this go fund me because of the travel and treatments.

Because of the type of cancer and where it is located, she is having to go to do all treatment through MD Anderson and the trips are hard! Not only the travel amount, but the stay costs.

My Nammaw has always been one to do for others without hesitation. Many of us are working out of town and not able to physically care for her the way she deserves and has done for us through the years.

This is one way we can help with stress and show our love for her.
