Hi everyone,

My name is Margherita and I'm an Italian international student who moved to England three years ago to follow my dream of working in sports. I just graduated with a first class honours degree in Sports Journalism from Liverpool John Moores University, an achievement that means the world to me and my family.

First in my family to graduate from high school and first to attend and complete university, I am extremely proud of my accomplishments. The journey has been filled with determination, sacrifice, and the unwavering support of my mum. My mother is my rock. She raised me on her own and sacrificed countless hours so I could pursue my education. She has always believed in me and encouraged me, even when things got tough.

Having reached this point, I'm ready to apply for the UK Graduate Visa, which would allow me to stay in the country for two more years and start my career as sports reporter or social media executive. It is my desire to accomplish many professional and personal goals, but for now, they are restricted by the cost of this visa, which amounts to almost £3000. Although I worked throughout university to support myself and save, I still need help to cover a portion of the cost.

That’s why I’m asking for your help as I’m aiming to raise £500 to get a step closer to covering the cost of this visa. However, it isn’t just about a visa, it’s about a future I’ve worked tirelessly to build. It’s about continuing a journey that started with a little girl who dreamed of working in sports and who now stands on the edge of making that dream come true. It’s also about honouring the sacrifices my mum and I have made to get here.
