Support Marcus Shoberg's Recovery Journey

Donation protected
Greetings, I am Bertrand "Marcus" Shoberg, some know me as Marcus Young from Jr High and Highschool. I am currently recovering from a procedure called an Ileostomy, after major surgery removing about 18-20 inches from my large intestine that was infected due to a long untreated condition called diverticulitis.
Between 7\19 and 7\25 I had to go under the knife twice. This is very painful still and I was just put back on small amounts of solid food and sent home 7\31.
This has me disabled for at least 6 months. I am raising money to help with medical supplies and to pay bills so that our little family does not become homeless as a result of this. I am a single dad and just got back on my feet earlier this year avoiding eviction with help from some of you.
This fundraiser with secure our home and help me get bags stomach, and other medical equipment as well as treatment during this long road of recovery.
During the holidays around the half way point I will have to go under the knife again to reverse the Ileostomy, and put my large intestine back together. As well as restart the recovery process from that. This is not going to be fun.
Now please allow me to give you a little fact and history on this condition with me. I believe that is fair. The first time I was diagnosed with this I admitted into the Fairview University Medical center in the Twin Cities for about 20 days with an intense antibiotic treatment alternative to surgery.
Before I continue please allow me to tell you what this is,
Diverticulitis is inflammation of irregular bulging pouches in the wall of the large intestine.

Typically, the wall of the large intestine, also called the colon, is smooth. An irregular, bulging pouch in the colon wall is called a diverticulum. Multiple pouches are called diverticula.

Diverticula are common, especially after age 50. They are usually found in the lower part of the colon. Most often, they don't cause problems. The presence of diverticula is called diverticulosis. Diverticulosis isn't a disease condition.

When these pouches become inflamed, the condition is called diverticulitis. Inflammation is immune system activity that increases blood flow and fluids to a site in the body and delivers disease-fighting cells. Inflammation of diverticula can cause severe pain, fever, nausea and changes in your stool habits.

Mild diverticulitis is usually treated with rest, changes in your diet and possibly antibiotics. Severe diverticulitis usually needs antibiotic treatment in the hospital. Surgery may be needed for severe or frequent diverticulitis.
Now please let me tell you exactly what an Ileostomy is incase you do not know.

An ileostomy is when the lumen of the ileum (small bowel) is brought through the abdominal wall via a surgical opening (created by an operation). This can either be temporary or permanent, an end or a loop. The purpose of an ileostomy is to evacuate stool from the body via the ileum rather than the usual route of the anus. The output from an ileostomy consists of loose or porridge-like stool consistent with that expected to pass through the small bowel (as it is the large bowel that is responsible for making the stool more solid dependent upon water absorption). The output from an ileostomy can vary but typically ranges from 200 to 700 ml per day, and an Ileostomy is typically formed on the right side of the abdomen.
Your donations will keep us secure until I get back to work on the road either driving Uber or Taxi. Thank you for reading all of this I know its a lot. Feel free to answer any questions. I want to offer nothing less that total transparency during this entire process. We thank you all so very much.
