For Marcus Hicks and his family
Marcus Hicks, co-owner of Belenty's Love Mexican Restaurant in Fort Worth, is facing a long and difficult recovery after a horrific motorcycle accident on July 19th while celebrating his son's birthday. What should have been a joyful family day turned into a life-changing emergency when Marcus was thrown over the handlebars and hit his head on the pavement multiple times. He suffered severe brain trauma, including three brain bleeds, along with a fractured skull and a broken nose. After five days in the ICU, Marcus was released from the hospital, but less than 24 hours later, he suffered a seizure and had to be hospitalized again for another five days. Since then, recovery has been slow, the seizures remain unpredictable, and Marcus is also coping with memory loss and many ongoing medical needs.
Marcus, Belen, and their children, Sammy, Mia and Junior, are doing everything they can to keep moving forward. Before the accident, Marcus and Belen had recently purchased a food truck to grow the Belenty's Love brand and continue serving the DFW community. Since the accident, they have had to put the food truck up for sale, and their children are helping run the restaurant on Bluebonnet Circle while Marcus heals. Donations will help cover medical bills, therapy, follow-up care, and daily living expenses, while also helping the family keep the restaurant going during this incredibly hard season. Alli is asking the community to come together for a family that has given so much love, kindness, and comfort to others. Any support, whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, will help lighten the burden and remind Marcus and his family that they are not facing this alone.
