This update is from Shelby today!!We didn't get the best news today. His last 2 head ultrasounds showed the ventricles in the left side of his brain where he had the bleed are getting slightly larger each week. His head circumference has now also started measuring a little bigger each day. The Doctors are going to repeat another scan on thursday to measure the ventricles and if they have continued to get bigger we're more than likely getting transferred to St. Louis to see a neonatal neurosurgeon and we'll stay there for the duration of his NICU stay. Little man has been stable since last weeks episode and is in the upper 40s low 50s on oxygen use but is at high settings on his ventilator. They might restart a longer steroid regimen next week now that his pneumonia is cleared up.

Pray for our little man and our family. Being separated for that long is going to be so hard. I'll be going with him while dad and his big brothers stay here for work and school.

Update::: after 2 long weeks Shelby finally got to hold baby skylar. The smile on both her and marcus's face says it all.

Update::: please baby Skylar and his parents need all the prayers and support they can get!! He now has a brain bleed and may have to have a stint put in. If this happens he'll be transferred to Saint Louis children's hospital!!

We would like to thank everyone for all the prayers and donations!! Keep those prayers coming they are working. Baby Skylar is doing great with his breast milk feedings and is now just on a CPAP machine to assist with his breathing!!

Update baby Skylar weighs 2lb 1ounce and came out crying so that's awesome and he's stable!!
Update.. they took Shelby back for emergency C-section at only 24 weeks along!!

Hi, my name is Leann and my nephew Marcus Brown and his wife Shelby Brown are expecting their 3rd son. When Shelby was 22 weeks along, her water broke while she was sleeping. She's now been in the hospital for 2 weeks, being given steroids and antibiotics, and they're trying to keep the baby healthy and trying to keep from delivering him as long as possible to help his little lungs and body to become stronger.

With everything going on so quickly and the worry of not knowing when they will need to take baby boy by emergency C-section, my nephew hasn't left his wife's side. Unfortunately, we all know the household and medical bills still need to be paid no matter what's going on. With that being said, I'd like to try and take a little stress off them so their main focus can be on the health of baby boy.
