Thanks so much to everyone who has given so generously to Marcus and Morgan! These funds will take a massive burden off their shoulders during and after their time in prison. In October 2022, Marcus and Morgan climbed the QE2 bridge, put up a Just Stop Oil banner and stayed there for two days. It was an inspiring and brave action, sounding the alarm on the climate crisis in a way that was impossible to ignore.

After nearly 6 months on remand, Morgan and Marcus have been sentenced to 3 years and 2 years and 7 months in prison, respectively. They had anticipated spending a few weeks in prison when they went into this action, but what has happened instead is shocking and completely unprecedented.

Marcus is now being threatened with deportation, tearing him apart from his family in the UK - this is the worst possible outcome imaginable.

Help us get Marcus and Morgan set up, so they get out as soon as possible and know they'll have the support they need when they finally get released:

--> Contributing to their legal costs:

We got an immigration lawyer on Marcus' case so he won't be deported - but it may cost up to £20,000. Help us cover these legal costs!

--> Help cover their living costs:

They are likely to be released early on a tag, which will limit their options for travel and finding work. Having a buffer and not having the stress of needing to find work right away will allow them to continue their outreach and engagement work, spreading their story on why they took action to Just Stop Oil.

--> Readjusting to life on the outside:

Being locked up for 18-22 hours a day and confronting the seriousness of the climate crisis will take its toll on anyone. Help ensure Marcus and Morgan can care for their mental health with access to therapy if and when needed.

Any surplus money from this campaign will go to support other climate activists and earth defenders on the front lines of the climate crisis, such as Students Against East Africa Crude Oil Pipeline , or to Rebels In Prison Support who are paying for Marcus and Morgans phone calls and emails from prison.
