As many of you have heard, my son, Marc, passed away unexpectedly on Monday. He was at home when he suddenly began experiencing severe back pain and difficulty breathing. He immediately called 911. Although the ambulance arrived quickly, everything happened so fast that Marc passed away in the ambulance in our driveway. It was later discovered that his aorta had torn. Even in this unimaginable tragedy, Marc’s selfless spirit shone through. Through organ donation, he was able to give others the chance to live healthier, fuller lives.

About six years ago, Marc made the decision to move into my home to help create a stable, loving environment for his two children, Myra (6th grade) and Sebastian (4th grade). After Marc’s divorce, he and their mother, Brandie, made the selfless choice to surround the children with as much love, stability, and family support as possible. By living together—Marc, my husband Randy, and me—we worked as a team to raise Myra and Sebastian in a nurturing, supportive home. While living with his mother wasn’t always easy for my independent son, Marc chose to stay because his children came first. His love and dedication to them guided every decision he made.

Now, with Marc’s passing, my husband and I will continue raising Myra and Sebastian in our home. Our goal is to give them the same love, stability, and sense of family that Marc worked so hard to provide. However, we are now facing this journey without their father’s guidance, encouragement, wisdom, and love—and without Marc’s financial support. We are asking for help to ensure Myra and Sebastian can continue to grow up in the safe, loving environment their father wanted for them.
