In May 2025, Marc was rushed to the ER after suddenly becoming seriously ill. Within weeks, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 bladder cancer that was already too advanced for surgery. Since then, he has undergone immunotherapy, chemotherapy, radiation, multiple hospitalizations, and major surgery to treat complications from the disease. Marc is well known to many in the NYMA community and has always been someone who worked hard and took care of others. As a small business owner repairing boats and building race boat engines, his work depends on physical labor. Because of treatment and complications, he has been unable to work and can now stand for only short periods at a time. His 78-year-old mother, who cannot work herself, has become his primary caretaker. The medical fight has also become a financial one. Household expenses, taxes, and everyday bills continue while income has stopped. Marc is currently finishing radiation treatment and waiting for the next round of scans to determine what comes next. This fundraiser is meant to help ease the financial burden so Marc can focus on treatment and recovery. Any support — whether through a donation or by sharing this with fellow NYMA friends and beyond — is deeply appreciated.
