Hello, my name is Marco Medina. My dream has always been to learn how to fly and for my occupation to be a pilot. Since I was a little boy, I have loved aviation. I build model planes and even flew an RC one that I got for Christmas one year.
I was homeschooled and graduated with honors. Before graduating, I was already accepted into Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I have completed two years there at a cost of $60,000 a year (not including flight expenses). However, this year is different. I already have loans from the previous years. On top of that, my father has recently lost his job and can no longer help me with my tuition or co-sign for me. For that reason, I'm asking for help to complete this school year and continue my studies.
During my high school years, I participated in the dual enrollment program at my local community college. Early in my senior year, I was accepted into one of the top 10 aviation schools, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
This has been something that I dreamt about but isn't easy to achieve. Why? The tuition of a private institution is always higher, sometimes unreachable. I was awarded an academic achievement grant during my freshman year, but that hasn't been enough to cover tuition and flight hour expenses. But God has always been merciful with me and my family. With my parents' help, support, and God's guidance, I have made it this far into my senior year.
