Hello everyone. I’m Stephanie, Marci’s daughter. I started this for my mom to help keep everyone updated and to help get her through this. My mom needs all the help and support she can get right now, both in prayers, physically, and financially. Bear with me as I update this the best I can.

Last Thursday, my mom was rushed to the hospital after suddenly not being able to walk and having excruciating pain down her back and neck. After getting to the hospital and seeing the doctors there and going through a ton of imaging and testing, the doctors made the call to have her transported to Hershey to the neurological intensive care unit.

Once at Hershey, they did more testing and procedures and found that her spine is fractured, has lesions, tumors, and severe damage from her neck to her tailbone. They did a bone biopsy and are awaiting the results of that.

They also found there is something in her right breast, most likely to be cancer, and is what is causing all of this.

It has been a very long weekend with lots of testing and procedures, extreme amounts of pain and fear, and the news just seems to get better anytime another doctor's specialist comes in the room.

This morning, my mother is being taken down for surgery to fuse her neck and her spine and try to stabilize her. The plan that they initially had was to use two cages to stabilize from her neck to midway down her back. Unfortunately, the doctors came in this morning with more news that was not good. The surgery is now going to be split into multiple surgeries because it’s going to be from her neck all the way down to her tailbone. At this point, they are just trying to stabilize the top to help control the pain while they do more testing and procedures.

What we know at this very moment is that there are going to be multiple surgeries and a very long and extensive recovery time and healing, as well as more procedures, more testing, and a very, very long road ahead.

My mom is the person that always helps everybody, no questions asked. She always gives everything she has and even more than she ever should.

My mom (and dad) really needs everyone’s help.

Please, I’m asking you from the bottom of my heart to reach into your heart and help my parents in any way you can. My mother has very limited insurance and will have extremely extensive bills coming out of this for all the surgeries and procedures they are doing, as well as a very extensive road ahead of her. The last thing that they should have to do is worry about where they are going to come up with funds to take care of the medical bills, as well as any other bill that they would need to take care of while my mother is trying to get better. Because that’s all she needs to focus on is trying to get better.
