Our Aunt Marcia Pfohl, who has touched the lives of so many people with her kindness and compassion, is now facing one of the greatest challenges of her life.

For the past six months, Marcia has been struggling with serious health issues that were difficult for doctors to diagnose. After countless appointments and tests, they finally discovered that she was born with a congenital heart defect that had gone undetected her entire life. She is now scheduled to undergo open-heart surgery within the next week.

Before all of this, Marcia had been a dedicated working professional for most of her life — someone who took pride in her career and her ability to support herself, her family and others. Because of this long period of illness and misdiagnosis, she has not been able to work for six months, and her recovery will require at least three more months before she can safely return to work.

Despite her challenges, Marcia continues to care for her home, her three rescued dogs and two rescued cats, who are part of her family as well.

Marcia has always been the kind of person who gives freely of herself—rescuing animals, helping family and friends, and supporting anyone in need. Now she’s the one who needs a little help from all of us.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward her living expenses, medical costs, and care for her animals while she focuses on healing and recovery.
