Support Marc Juneau's Long Road to Recovery

Many of you know Marc Juneau as the colorful, “LOVE” sticker and poster–offering massage therapist who works out of Dr. Eli Bentabou’s Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic in Freeland. Through his practice, Marc has helped countless people find pain relief and healing — but now, he needs the community’s support.

Marc's Housing Crisis has become more imminent.

Marc shared:
On November 16th, my life changed in an instant.
I was in a motorcycle accident that left me with multiple fractures on my right side: my tibia, femur, knee plateau, and humerus were all shattered. I underwent 12 hours of emergency surgery, and now have plates, screws, and hardware throughout my leg and arm.
I am currently non-weight-bearing on my right leg for a minimum of 4 months, and my right arm is limited to coffee-cup weight bearing. I cannot walk, cannot work as a massage therapist , and will need extensive rehabilitation for many months.
I am still hospitalized at Harborview Medical Center as I wait for insurance authorization to move to a skilled-nursing rehab facility. From there, I face a long road of recovery and physical therapy.

The Housing Crisis That Happened Immediately After the Accident -
Just before the accident, I was in the process of securing long-term housing for myself and my child. After my previous landlord moved out, the property owner reviewed my rental application, approved me, and gave me written instructions and a timeline for providing the deposit and rent. I had every intention — and every ability — to meet that agreement.
But after my accident, when it became clear I would be unable to work for months, the housing plan changed suddenly.
I was unexpectedly told by the property owner on November 25th that I need to move out by December 15th so he can start his remodel — something that is impossible while I am hospitalized, non-weight-bearing, and physically unable to move my belongings. I have not received any written notice, but I have been verbally told that the timeline has changed.
This leaves me and my 17-year-old child in a terrifying position:
losing our home in the middle of a long medical recovery.
My girlfriend has been staying at the home to help care for my child and maintain stability while I am in the hospital/skilled nursing facility , but I cannot return home, cannot move, and cannot secure new housing without community support.

What This GoFundMe Will Cover
My goal is simple and urgent:
➡️ To remain in my current home during my recovery and to show that I can reliably maintain rent while I heal.
Because I cannot work for several months, it’s understandable that any landlord would want assurance that I can consistently meet housing costs — not just the first month, but the months that follow. Securing several months of housing up front provides the stability my family needs, and it gives the property owner (or any potential new landlord, if circumstances change) confidence that rent will be paid reliably throughout my recovery period.
Your support will help cover:
$2,000 – Security Deposit
$1,475/month – Rent (December through April)
$500/month – Utilities (electricity, water, garbage, internet)
Total Needed to Maintain Housing Stability Through April: $11,875
This ensures:
I can return home safely after rehab
My child can stay in a stable environment
I can focus on healing without fear of eviction, loss of housing, or scrambling to move while non-weight-bearing

Being able to pay multiple months at once is the only realistic way for me to remain housed while recovering from a life-changing injury and unable to work.

Why This Matters So Much
I have always worked hard to support myself, my child, and my community. Many of you know me from my massage therapy work, web development, and my involvement in Freeland Hall, the Langley Chamber, and Whidbey Island’s small business community.
Losing my ability to walk — even temporarily — has brought everything to a halt.
Right now, I cannot:
work
drive
pack or move
lift anything
return home
secure a new rental

Community support is the only thing that can keep us housed during this time.

– Marc Juneau
