SUPPORT MAR AFTER ICE KIDNAPPING

UPDATE 9/17/25:

Thank you for showing up in solidarity with Mar and his loved ones as we prepare for what we know will be a long process. While we have surpassed our initial goal (THANK YOU!), costs as we move forward remain unclear. Any remaining funds after bond, legal, and immigration fees will go towards post-detention care for Mar (securing housing, food, etc.) and/or redistributed to other at-risk neighbors.

On September 15th at 3pm, our beloved friend and dance community member Mar Garcia (27 y/o) was illegally abducted by ICE on his way to work.

Anyone that is lucky enough to know Mar knows his glowing warmth, one-in-a-million talent, and wildly generous spirit. Mar is a treasured part of our NYC dance + queer community and has been a huge personal and creative support system to so many of us. And beyond his exceptionalness - NO HUMAN BEING IS ILLEGAL.

My name is Bella Stenvall, I am a close friend and roommate of Mar, and we are raising money to pay for immigration fees, filing fees, bond, commissary funds, and any other legal needs for Mar while he is in detainment and going through the immigration process as an asylum-seeker. Any remaining money will go towards post-detention care (i.e. housing, food, etc.) and/or redistributed to other at-risk neighbors. I will be sending the funds directly to his commissary while he is in detainment and transferring to pay for all legal and immigration-related fees.
