Hi friends,
On November 8th, I’ll be running The Tampa Bay 100, a 100-mile foot race from Ybor City to Downtown St. Pete. The race finishes November 9th, and later that night, I will be at Cannadelic, where I’ll take the stage to share my story about how psychedelics helped me overcome addiction, depression, and anxiety, and unlocked my true potential.
I’m dedicating this run to raise funds for MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), a nonprofit that has spent nearly 40 years pioneering psychedelic research to help people heal.
Here’s why this matters to me:
For over a decade, I struggled with cocaine, alcohol, anxiety and depression.
In late 2022, psilocybin mushrooms gave me clarity, presence, and the courage to change.
I quit destructive habits, wrote my book Your Mindset Is Your Reality, and rediscovered my passion for challenging myself physically.
In just the last two years, I went from zero running to completing a 46-mile ultramarathon. Now, I’m taking on 100 miles.
By supporting MAPS, you’re allowing the opportunity for other people to find something just as incredible that they can bring out of themselves
Where your donation goes:
75% directly to MAPS to fund life-changing psychedelic research.
25% to race costs (entry fees, nutrition, gear, supplies) so I can push through this massive physical and mental challenge.
Every dollar helps. Even $10 can make a difference—and if you can’t donate right now, sharing this campaign means the world.
Thank you for supporting me, this mission, and the movement to bring healing to more people.
With gratitude,
John Borden
