Support MAO's Fight Against Colon Tumor

Mi nombre es José Orsini, y acudo a ustedes en este momento tan complejo y delicado para mi hermano Miguel Orsini. Seguramente lo conoces como MAO, pero para quienes no: es una persona extraordinaria, sensible, dedicado a ser el mejor padre para sus hijas, un artista lleno de ideas hermosas, e igualmente: un gran hermano. Por muchos años lo he considerado un ejemplo, un héroe a seguir, pero incluso los héroes tienen momentos difíciles.

Mi hermano tiene un tumor en el colon, el cual ha reducido enormemente las funciones de este órgano, y está muy cerca de colapsar completamente su sistema digestivo, lo que podría traer consecuencias fatales. MAO vive en Venezuela, lo que complica más sus opciones médicas y el tiempo de respuesta ante esta emergencia debido a un difícil y deficiente sistema médico público.

Por eso, acudimos a GoFundMe para recolectar fondos necesarios para que MAO sea intervenido de emergencia a través de un proveedor médico privado. Aunque estamos cerca de obtener fecha para su operación, esto es apenas el inicio de un proceso de recuperación que es difícil, pero no imposible. MAO está rodeado de su familia y personas cercanas, quienes están haciendo un esfuerzo enorme para apoyar a mi hermano, quien se ha visto muy afectado física y emocionalmente.

Mi hermana Vanessa y yo no estamos presentes en Venezuela, pero desde afuera estamos organizando esto para que todo el apoyo pueda ser utilizado para pagar las cuentas médicas y cubrir su recuperación. Tenemos fe en que, en el transcurso de las siguientes horas, MAO reciba el tratamiento necesario para que pueda superar esta dificultad y seguir adelante.

My name is José Orsini. I come to you in this difficult time on behalf of my brother, Miguel Orsini. You may know him as MAO (a moniker based on his full name), but if you don't: He is an extraordinary human being, a sensitive person, an artist full of beautiful ideas, someone who does his best and works hard every time so he can be the best dad to his 2 daughters, and also: he's a brother and a friend. I've always considered him someone to look up to, a hero if you will. But sometimes heroes have difficult times.

My brother has a tumor in his colon, which has drastically affected this organ's main functions and it's really close to shut down this organ which would bring fatal consequences for him. MAO lives in Venezuela, which makes any potential treatment and recovery more difficult due to a inefficient public health system.

That's why we're opening this GoFundMe page to collect necessary funds to cover MAO's medical treatment and recovery through a private health provider. Though we're close to secure both a date and the resources for an immediate removal of this tumor, this is just the beginning of a difficult journey for him, though not impossible. MAO is surrounded by his family, relative and closes friends, who are working really hard to support him during these difficult times which have take him a toll, both physically and emotionally.

My sister Vanessa and I do not live in Venezuela, but we're working hard from abroad to secure everything he may need for covering his medical bill and post-surgery treatment. We hope that, in the next few hours, MAO can have access to this much needed medical procedure so he can overcome this nightmare and move forward.
