Manuel started working for me several years ago when I first started my landscaping business. He left his wife and 1 year old son and came to America to support them and build a better life. Im so lucky to have found this guy, who has become a friend and a reliable employee for the past few years. My company would have never made it this long without his help.

When he first started, he had no experience, spoke little to no English, but we became a formidable force very quickly. He learned English from tik tok videos on his phone, taught me some things and even fed me tacos for lunch a lot of days! He had plenty of opportunities to go work in construction and make more than I could pay him, but he chose to remain loyal to me because I gave him a job and he knew I needed help.

Besides work, Manuel is one of the most respectful and kind people I have ever met. He always spends extra time to hold the door for someone, help out a random stranger load or unload their truck or trailer, pick up trash and offer food/drink to anybody around him. He doesn’t go out and spend any extra money on drugs or alcohol, because he is simply on a mission to get back to his family as soon as possible.

The time has come for him to make his trip home later this year and my goal is to raise enough money to give him reliable transportation, gifts for his son and wife as well as a little extra to finish building his family home and start the life he dreamt of when he left home years ago. I have never done a gofundme before, but thought it was worth a shot to help out a friend who will never ask for it.
