Hello. My name is Flavio. I am setting this GoFundMe up for my uncle and my aunt. My uncle (Manuel) is 75 years old. He is in need of hip surgery and will undergo the first of two surgeries for both hips on December 15, 2025.
My uncle’s mobility is decreasing rapidly. He is always in pain. He can’t stand for too long. He doesn’t sleep well from the consistent pain from his hips.
My uncle by trade something like a jack of all trades. From as far back as I can remember my uncle was always on the go. Even in his mid 70’s his mindset is that he will recover very fast from surgery and be back to visiting the elderly, where he comforts them with reading to them from the Bible, praying with them and loving on them in their late stage of life. This he does alongside his bride and best friend.
My uncle, also goes and does small odd jobs for people who are in need but can’t afford it. This he does from the love of God that is in his heart and his skill and ability he’s acquired over decades of working.
My uncle is diabetic. He has other issues as well. Of course, in considering his age and the anesthesia that will be needed for this kind of surgery the family is concerned.
My aunt (Maribel) who is my uncle’s wife of 52 years, will be taking unpaid time off from her job to help and assist my uncle (her husband), while he is home in recovery. This will be a difficult time for them.
To offset the costs of no additional income coming in, due to taking unpaid time off, which at this point is around two weeks but could be more, as well as costs of additional medications that aren’t usually in the budget and the need of a new mattress because theirs is not sufficient for his recovery and way past needing to be replaced, I am prayerfully setting this fund up, to help two people who have been there for me and many others throughout the years and are both in their 70’s and now about to face a challenge that could make or break them financially.
My prayer is as follows: That my uncle will go into the surgery hopeful and emerge from the surgery thankful. That his recovery will go well, that both my uncle and aunt will be at peace and that the generosity of many will overwhelm them.
My thanksgiving to God at this very moment is overwhelming and I look forward to giving thanks to Him all the more through your generous and kind help. May God bless the giver, in their heart and home and along their way. Amen.
